Our position

Plagiarism is the presentation of someone else's words, ideas, or work as your own without appropriate attribution. Rewriting a source to hide its origins is plagiarism with extra steps. We do not market the product as a tool for doing that, and we do not optimise it to do so.

How to use the product responsibly

• Rewrite your own drafts. The product is at its best when the original thinking is yours.
• When you draw on a source, cite it. Rewriting does not remove the citation obligation.
• Quote rather than paraphrase when the original phrasing matters.
• Follow the attribution and citation conventions of your field, your institution, or your publisher.

How to recognise misuse

If your workflow consists of copying material you did not write, running it through a rewriter, and submitting the output as original work, that is plagiarism regardless of how unrecognisable the rewrite is. The fact that AI was involved does not change the underlying ethics.

Compliance is your responsibility
